Let’s get real for a second. Your bridesmaids are never going to wear their dress again. Ever. Most brides choose a dress with the intention of their girls being able to get multiple wears out of it. But, honestly, how many events do you attend a year where you need a cocktail style dress? Answer that questions honestly.
If you’re like 90% of the people out there, the answer is probably one or none. Even if you do attend cocktail style events, most of you probably go out and buy a new dress for each occasion. I certainly do! I think that’s just part of our nature.
So what all of that means, is at the end of a wedding, you’ve spend a minimum of $150 on a dress plus alterations and you’re never going to wear it again. It’s going to hang in the back of your closet for the next few years until you finally decide to get rid of it.
That’s where Vow to Be Chic comes in. I first heard of them a couple of years ago and was completely smitten with the idea. For those of you that don’t know, Vow to Be Chic is a designer bridesmaid dress rental company. The best part is, most dresses are under $100. For years, groomsmen have been able to rent their suits. But, for some reason to concept of renting bridesmaid dresses seemed to elude everyone, except the brilliant minds behind Vow to Be Chic.
Vow to Be Chic combines two of our favorite things, big style without the big budget. Boasting designers like Monique Lhuillier, Jenny Yoo, Paper Crown, Nicole Miller, Watters and more, your girls are bound to be the most stylish around. Plus, as I mentioned above, most are available to rent below $100.
Here’s how it all works, you go to their website and browse the thousands of designer dresses available for rent creating a bridal suite with styles for each of your girls. From there, you send each girl and invitation inviting them to order the dresses you’ve chosen for them. Your girls accept the invitation, get measured by a local tailor, select their size and order. Dresses arrive two weeks before the big day with a free backup size in tow just in case. They even have two lengths of floor length gowns so your petite friends won’t trip down the aisle.
It’s a perfectly genius idea and we’re so happy this option is available. Check out our favorite dresses from the site below and when you’ve chosen the perfect options for your girls, share the image with us on Instagram by using #idovowtobechic.
